Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Ruche. It's Hannah here and I am the founder of Ruche, my happy small business. I would like to share some of my thoughts with you about the idea of how Ruche is born.
An Idea is Born
On top of being a mother, I was running a retail business, but the long hours and selling products I wasn’t passionate about didn't feel rewarding for me.
I began my search for something I could make on my own in my spare time amidst my busy life, in hope to find balance through making a product that would really excite me. I want to make something that’s very practical and cool that can be used wisely in everyday life.
However, I had much drawbacks and hit many roadblocks until late 2018, when a fellow mum told me about using beeswax wrap to wrap her son’s sandwiches. I was absolutely stunned by this idea, so I dived into the beeswax wrap making journey.
Our Journey
It took me over 8 to 9 months to do lots of trials of experiments on our RucheWax Recipe in making our RucheWraps at the beginning of our Journey. It's been over two years now since we sold RucheWraps to our customers and a lot of them have come back and told me that they really appreciated our Wraps because they are the only one that still sticks after many many uses.
I put a lot of effort to reduce unnecessary waste during our eco products being made. All equipments I use are either recycled, upcycled, biodegradable or plant based materials.
I want to spread awareness of the need of reducing waste to help keep our planet clean and safe. I wish by setting up Ruche, I can use this platform to bring out my idea of stylish and awesome way to Sustainable living.
Our Mission
My aim for Ruche is to reduce waste from day to day bases, trying to be more sustainable and not to support single use plastic. However, if plastic is the last option that we could use, then reuse, repurpose and recycle would be the way to go. I collect all plastic and paper wrappings and packageings from shops or from the parcels we receive and store them in my repurpose corner, this way we can reuse them and give it a second life.
